With his win at the 2007 US Open, Federer has now 12 major titles, two less than Pete Sampras' record and putting him ahead of Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver's.
Federer is also the first man since Bill Tilden in the 1920s to win the US Open four straight times. He also won Wimbledon five straight times.
It's a trivial tennis world after all! Inconsequential bits of information and facts to add to information overload.

Justine's Win vs Williams sisters
Justine Henin is the second woman to defeat the Williams sisters back to back in a major. Henin defeated Serena in the quarterfinals of the 2007 US Open then vanquished Venus in the semifinals. She then went on to win the final, too, beating Kuznetsova in straight sets.
Martina Hingis was the first to do the feat in 2001 Australian Open, where she defeated Serena in the QF and handed Venus her worst loss with a 6-1, 6-1 blowout in the semis.
